Funding
WEL would like to thank all of our funders for their generous support of the network. WEL currently receives funding from:
- Countryside Council for Wales
- Environment Agency Wales
- Esmée Fairbairn Foundation
- Forestry Commission Wales
- National Trust Wales
- WCVA, via the Partnership Capacity Building Fund (to support our role as representative network for the environmental voluntary sector on the Third Sector Partnership Council )
- Welsh Assembly Government
- WWF Cymru
- WWF UK (the UK Links receive funding from WWF UK each year, to cover the costs of joint working activities)
The Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and the Tubney Charitable Trust also continue to jointly support the work of the WEL network by funding three posts to work on Marine issues in the environmental NGO sector in Wales. These staff are employed by three of WEL’s member organisations and greatly improve the capacity of WEL’s Marine Working Group in its ability to positively influence Marine Act implementation in Wales. WEL organisations involved in Marine work are also very grateful to the Waterloo Foundation for their support of this work programme.
